MENTAL DISORDERS IN PATIENTS WITH VIRAL HEPATITIS: DEVELOPMENT OF INVESTIGATIONS AND CURRENT STATE OF THE PROBLEM

The article presents the survey of investigations dedicated to mental disorders in patients with viral hepatitis. In the first half of the century the greatest prominence has been given to the psychotic disorders in these patients. The wide range of non-psychotic mental disorders was revealed in further investigations. Among them depression was considered to be most common. However, there are a lot of contradictions and a lack of practical orientation in available information. Nowadays, to obtain exact data on this subject, investigations must be directed by unified methodological approach and oriented toward momentary needs of infectious diseases hospital.
